November 15-18: The Daisy Theatre, Ronnie Burkett Theatre of Marionettes at Stanford

Hosted By: Stanford Live

—————

Don’t bring the kiddies to puppeteer Ronnie Burkett’s rather ribald, thoroughly entertaining Daisy Theatre. His marionettes—a rotating cast of 40 characters—include ventriloquist Meyer Lemon, actress Lillian Lunkhead, and Edna Rural. Advisory: chance of puppet nudity.

[Wreaths Across America eNewsletter #155] Only 60 days until Wreath Day

From the Wreaths Across America organization.

10/17/2017 WAA eNewsletter

Only 60 More Days Until Wreath Day

Seems like each new week has brought unprecedented events and prayers for our neighbors, from our Islands and southern states to the fires out west.

We are thinking of and praying for all Americans. America is strong. Seventy five years ago, the greatest generation answered the call, and on many occasions since – brave Americans have led the way into the fray. Whole families suffered through the winter at Valley Forge, as witness to the of this new nation.
We are Americans, and we are proud of your relentless spirit and your kindness shown towards those who are suffering. It is amazing to think that in just 60 days, volunteers all across our country will convene to place a wreath – and let those who serve and sacrifice know, we will always remember, and never forget.
Because that is the mission of Wreaths Across America… to Remember, Honor, and Teach. My fellow Americans, you deserve nothing less.
We hope you will enjoy this week’s collection of news and updates!

The Poppy Campaign begins soon!

From Dominion Command.

Poppy season is almost upon us

From October 27 until Remembrance Day, millions of Canadians will wear a poppy to show their support for our Veterans, and honour those who sacrificed their lives for our freedom.

While poppies are given out freely to anyone who wants one, any donations to the Poppy Fund support Canada’s Veterans and their families.

In order to make this show of support happen, we rely on Legionnaires to help distribute poppies in cities and towns across the country. Contact your local Branch today to volunteer for the Poppy Campaign and make a difference for Canada’s Veterans!

Thank you for supporting our athletes

We owe a huge thank you to all our Branches and Legionnaires for all their hard work helping make the Invictus Games National Flag Tour and the Games themselves such a huge success! Check out the cross-Canada photo gallery to see the impact the Games had thanks to our members.
