Branch member Fred Rutledge, who also serves as the President of The Saint Andrew’s Society of San Francisco, wrote this in their latest newsletter.
The regimental articles are switching to North American topics. This month the article is on the oldest Highland Regiment in Canada: the Black Watch (Royal Highland Regiment) of Canada. I have a particular interest in this regiment and have been a member of its association for 22 years. Back in 1987 three of us from Royal Canadian Legion, Post 25 Color Party were invited to participate in the 125th Anniversary of the Regiment’s founding in Montreal. The Colonel in Chief, Queen Elizabeth, the Queen Mother was there to celebrate. We marched with the Regiment and the Association in Molson Stadium at McGill University and participated in other commemorative events. (p. 2)
