This is a series of correspondence leading up to and shortly following the 1972 California State Convention of the Royal Canadian Legion. The correspondence begins with a letter from 10 January 1972 confirming that the Black Raven Pipe Band will perform at the Post 57 (Petaluma) Installation and the State Convention Installation later that year. The package continues with additional correspondence between Comrade William Cathro, the Pipe Major for the band, and Comrade Edward Ward, the Convention Chairman, as they plan out the participation.
Of interest is a listing of the full Convention Committee, as well as the full convention agenda for 30 June to 02 July (note that the Canadian Legion got together for Canada Day). The package concludes with a letter from the convention chair on 02 August 1972, thanking the Black Raven Pipe Band for their participation.
