Like his predecessors, military ombudsman Gary Walbourne is engaged in
what appears to be a futile battle for independence from his masters at the
Department of National Defence and in the Canadian Armed Forces.

The tulip has become a symbol of beauty and friendship between Canada and the Netherlands dating back to the Second World War when the Dutch royal family took refuge in Canada and the Canadian Forces led the liberation of the Netherlands.
