Ready To Help In 2018?

Now that we are into 2018 and past the holiday week, we are back on our regular publishing schedule (Tuesdays), with more great stories for and about out veterans.

This week when you tell your friends about coming out in January for the “retiring of the wreaths (see wreath cleanup details below), here are some of the most helpful links to share with them:
1) What is Wreaths Across America? Maybe your friend has never heard of the organization, so share this video (4:00) with a great overview of the Mission to Remember, Honor, and Teach.
2) We shared this last week, but here’s what NBC’s Lester Holt had to say about Wreaths Across America…
3) Ready to volunteer in 2018 and be the first to remember? Please check out the two links below for wreath cleanup day (January 20th for Arlington).
4) Lastly – when you scroll all the way to the bottom of this newsletter, make sure you help us shout out and say thank you* to ALL THE PROFESSIONAL DRIVERS AND TRANSPORTATION companies who deliver to 1400+ locations nationwide!
* And make sure you check out (and enter) the WAA Toy Truck Block Set Giveaway, as part of our honoring all the great support from the trucking industry.

[eNewsletter #165] Happy New Year and cleanup planning…

From the Wreaths Across America organization.

Wishing You A Happy New Year!

While the eastern part of the country is hunkered down for today’s winter storm, and others are just coming out of the deep freeze, we want to wish you a warm and Happy New Year!

And we have several stories that will warm your heart as you come in from the cold…
For example, did you know that over the past two weeks since Wreath Day (December 16th), hundreds of volunteers (including our Chairman Wayne Hanson, his wife Ann, and the Worcester family after traveling down from Maine) have been back to the cemeteries, picking up wreaths that were blown over by the winter winds. Each wreath was placed again as a reaffirmed sign of respect.
Or maybe you will join the thousands and thousands of volunteers who will go out later this month (see more info below) to help “retire the wreaths” in an effort that is every bit as much about the Mission to Remember, Honor, and Teach.
And lastly, perhaps you saw the Wreaths Across America story told on NBC with Lester Holt (see the link below) or dozens of other media stations who captured the stories of our volunteers at locations all across the Nation.

A Full Circle Moment For This Gold Star Mother

A Full Circle Moment For This Gold Star Mother

This spontaneous moment the night before National Wreath Day this year illustrated the importance of holding up our troops and their families every day, but particularly during the holidays. Our military families sacrifice so much and endure such heartache during times of separation and loss. This story of service shared by Schneider’s professional driver David Price, accompanied by Lindsay Lawler and Chris Roberts, was a powerful reminder there are empty seats at thousands of family tables this holiday season.
