At Wreaths Across America headquarters, this past winter has been the busiest yet and we couldn’t be more pleased about all the opportunities on the horizon and look forward to sharing some exciting news with you as we move forward in 2018.
With the start of April comes the Month of the Military Child. This important month of recognition was established as a way to underscore the vital role children play in the military community. As a grandmother to three boys whose father is a Marine, I can personally attest to the resilience and strength of these children and importance of community in my daughter and son-in-law’s lives.
This month we spoke with Debbie Nichols, CEO and founder of Military Children Collaborative Group, a national nonprofit based in California, to better understand the impact military deployment has on children and ways to help them cope. We are also excited to kick off our annual Month of the Military Child photo contest which will run through April 13th—Purple Up Day. Winners will be announced in the April newsletter, and you can vote for your favorites on Facebook.
