Besides his family, Ryan’s favorite part of his hometown Toronto is the natural beauty in the surrounding areas particularly during the late summer and fall.

Chief Risk Officer and Chief Auditor at Flex (San Jose)
Natasha joins the Board as Treasurer. She misses all things Canadian including Coffee Crisps, Timbits, Poutine, and the incredible skiing; she goes back to Calgary to visit her friends and family as often as she can.

Canadian Consul General Rana Sarkar will moderate a conversation with MSNBC host Ali Velshi on his family’s legacy of endurance and the fight for democracy. In Velshi’s new book, Small Acts of Courage, he taps into 125 years of family history to advocate for social justice as a living, breathing experience―a way of life more than an ideology.
Join in-person at the Commonwealth Club in San Francisco or online to hear them discuss stories of regular people who made a lasting commitment to fight for change, even when success seemed impossible.

Conférence: La Littérature et la Chanson Autochtones du Québec

Alliance Française de San Francisco, 1345 Bush Street, San Francisco
Dans le cadre du programme Arts, Lettres et Communication, profil littérature et création, du cégep de Saint-Hyacinthe au Québec, en collaboration avec l’Alliance française de San Francisco, dix étudiants prononceront une conférence sur la littérature et la chanson autochtones du Québec. La poétesse Joséphine Bacon et l’artiste multidisciplinaire Samian seront à l’honneur lors de cette soirée. Les œuvres de ces artistes ont en commun les réalités des peuples des Premières Nations, c’est-à -dire le rapport particulier au territoire, les questions identitaires, plusieurs enjeux politico- historiques, etc. Le public aura aussi l’occasion de discuter avec les étudiants et les enseignantes après la conférence. Un vin d’honneur sera servi.
***Please note that the conference will be held in French. College students from Cégep de Saint-Hyacinthe in Quebec will host a conference on indigenous literature and songs from Quebec, featuring the works of poet Joséphine Bacon and the multidisciplinary artist, Samian. Â
