Celebrating Canadian Thanksgiving

Thanks to those who joined us for our DML~ Canadian Thanksgiving under the stars on Oct 5th; it was a spectacular evening, the Turkey dinner, Canadian desserts, and a stocked bar were enjoyed by 100 friends and family. Annually hosted by Berkeley Canadian Studies at UC Berkeley, the event brings us together to share our pride and grateful appreciation for one another. A special thanks to our partners and sponsors, the Canadian Consulate and Air Canada.

Canadian Snowbirds Save Fleet Week!

San Francisco Chronicle October. 10, 2025:

When the federal government shut down days before the start of San Francisco’s Fleet Week, it grounded the U.S. Navy’s formation flyers and left organizers scrambling to find a new headliner for the event’s signature air show. The Canadian Snowbirds answered the call!

The nine-plane Canadian team was originally scheduled to appear ahead of the Navy’s Blue Angels three performances this weekend. But with nonessential military operations — including aerobatics — on pause until the government reopens, the Snowbirds were promoted to Fleet Week’s closing act during their first San Francisco flight in eight years.

After captivating over two million visitors in Montreal and Paris, AURA has arrived in San Francisco, transforming Grace Cathedral into a canvas of light, music .and luminous storytelling, sparking awe and connection across generations.

Created by Moment Factory, a Quebec-based multimedia entertainment studio.

The San Francisco Leonard Cohen Festival

Featuring four performances by Conspiracy of Beards, a choir of men that sing the songs of Leonard Cohen, the Festival is a multi-artist, multi-event celebration of the poetry, literature, and music of the late Canadian singer, songwriter, author, and poet.

The San Francisco Dance Film Festival

This year’s Festival will include a short documentary film The Steppers Visit South Africa, which follows the Montreal Steppers during a visit to South Africa for a cultural and artistic exchange.
