Legion website redesigned to better support branches and improve member services

From Dominion Command.

WebsiteAdEng

Legion members and members of the public interested in supporting Veterans will appreciate the newly redesigned Legion.ca and its improved rich content and new navigation features that make it easy to find any information needed.

With its new user interface and improved interactivity, visitors can quickly get to where they want to be, from the Poppy Store to media inquiries to making connections via various Legion social media platforms.

Something for everyone

The branch locator tool displays information on branches, each with contact information and directions, and the join us button goes to a page with Legion membership information and a form that can be filled in online.

The news link provides the latest information on Legion initiatives and national activities, and advocating for Veterans details how the Legion is committed to ensuring Veterans receive the care and supports they deserve. The support for Veterans area has information on and links to a variety of Legion Veterans’ services such as assistance with VAC, help for homeless Veterans, financial assistance, and contact information for command service officers across Canada.

Members and branches

This section is a gateway to convenient and easy membership information and services. Once members register here, they can view and update their personal information, renew each year via credit card, and/or sign up for an automatic membership renewal payment option. Those interested in becoming members of a specific branch can download a membership form to fill in and take to that local branch.

The new website also allows Legion branches to process all new and renewing members online, gain 24/7 access to up-to-date branch membership records, and run branch-specific reports. Provincial commands can verify the membership status of their members and run their own provincial-specific reports.

In addition, the Legion’s member services team is available to assist members, branches and commands with any questions via membership@legion.ca or 1-855-330-3344.

“This new and improved site is just one tool we are using to streamline our systems and processes to improve member services and support our branches,” says Dominion President David Flannigan. “We want to make and facilitate direct connections that keep everyone informed and involved.”

Fun, Family, and the Fourth of July

Today we wish you a happy and safe Independence Day, we would also encourage you that amid the beach towels, cook-outs, and fireworks, remember the men and women who willingly put it all on the line for the freedoms we enjoy.

Don’t forget the real meaning of why the whole country celebrates each July 4th. If we each thank at least one veteran, they will know our mission.
And please help your neighbors be mindful of those veterans who walk with invisible wounds like PTSD, which can make the fireworks celebrations a terrorizing event.

If you didn’t know Kevin Haynes was a military veteran, you could probably figure it out when you saw the two flags flying from his front porch — an American flag and a U.S. Marine Corps Flag.

What Does Home Mean To You?

As holidays and celebrations approach, it is important for us to remember and honor the selflessness of our service members and their families, as many of them cannot be home to join in the festivities.
