Walter Tull (1888–1918) was a trailblazer as one of Britain’s first black professional footballers and Army officers in World War I.

Despite racial barriers, Tull served as a lieutenant in the British Army, leading  troops before being killed in action in 1918, and his legacy continues to inspire as a symbol of resilience and courage.
