My grandfather, David Dills, was a WW2 Veteran. He was “exaggerative” about his age and joined the Navy, serving on a Corvette in the Atlantic Ocean. He was a Legion member up until he passed away a few years ago.
We would attend Remembrance Day ceremonies together in Acton, Ontario where he would place a wreath on the local cenotaph. My favorite memory was going to the Legion dinners with other active duty members. It was a real pleasure to hear the stories and watch Veterans and active duty service members interact.
I joined because the Legion was an important part of my grandfather’s life and I want to continue supporting Legion initiatives and staying informed.
