We hope this finds you, your families and colleagues healthy and safe.  As we all work to manage the ongoing challenges facing us as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic, we understand that daily lives have been dramatically transformed, personally and professionally.

At C100, we have been thinking of ways we can support our community at large in these uncertain times, as many of you have reached out about need for supporting one another as we face unprecedented challenges of leadership. That’s why we’re happy to share that we’re taking C100 programming online beginning next week! If you are a founder or leader in the startup world, please join us on Zoom for Startup Playbook in a Sudden Downturn. Details are below.

While we can’t gather in person for a while, we will continue to fulfill the C100 mission to support, inspire, and connect Canadian entrepreneurial leaders. Over the last few weeks, founders have seen their worlds shift drastically. What was once a period of immense growth and opportunity has now morphed into first economic downturn their young companies will ever have to face.

Happy Leap Year! This year is a notable year for us not only because it’s a leap year, but also because C100 is celebrating its 10th year as an organization! It truly has been through member engagement, partner support, and community commitment that we’ve come so far in the last 10 years. We look forward to an exciting year ahead filled with member events and community engagement.

Some upcoming events have been announced and RSVPs are open for our next Canadians in Tech. This year we will be hosting more member events than we have in the past and we look forward to convening exceptional Canadians for dinner, drinks and discussions. C100 hosts regular meetups in San Francisco/Palo Alto for all Canadians visiting or living in the Bay Area to network with one another alongside C100’s staff, Charter Members and Partners. These frequent gatherings are the only consistent Bay Area networking events C100 hosts that are open to the public. Big thanks to all of you who have committed to working on the Selection Committee to select the 25 who will be supported by C100 and its Members through mentorship in 2020. We can’t wait to announce this year’s cohort in March.

Dax Dasilva, Founder and CEO of Lightspeed and Founder of Never Apart will share his entrepreneurial story in conversation with Marie-Joëlle Parent, author of 300 Reasons to Love San Francisco. Dax was recently named the Innovator of the Year by the Globe and Mail and Lightspeed’s IPO last year was the largest Canadian IPO of the past nine years.
