48Hrs in the Valley alum RenoRun secured $22.5 million CAD in Series A funding, co-led by C100’s Corporate Partner inovia Capital, and participation from Foundational Partner SVB, Corporate Partner Real Ventures, and C100 Co-Chair Andre Charoo’s fund, Maple VC.

C100’s Foundational Partner, Toronto-based PC Financial launches first PC Express stand-alone store where customers shop digitally and then pick up their order in the storefront location.

Prior to FacebookLuc Levesque founded TravelPod, worked at Expedia, and was an executive at TripAdvisor. Now, Luc is leading a product area at Facebook, and serves as an advisor to companies like TwitterPinterest, and Quora. Luc’s early life and career revolved around tech, and now he is able to use his passion to not only connect people in online communities, but face to face as well.

This month, invited guests joined the C100 team for an interactive dinner at Swarm Technologies with Canadian Co-Founder and CEO Sara Spangelo. Sara showed us how to build your very own satellite while discussing the challenges faced by many social impact tech companies. Sara candidly shared her entrepreneurial journey alongside guest of honour Anar Simpson, Global Ambassador for Technovation, discussing how our connections, economic power, and influence can be a force for positive change.

The Canadian tech-stock boom is at an all time high, climbing 59% in 2019- more than double the next-best industry group on the S&P/TSX Composite Index. On the shortlist of contributors include C100 Charter Member Dax Dasilva‘s company, Lightspeed POS, holding Canada’s 2nd biggest IPO this year.

Mississauga-based, Growth Summit participant PointClickCare makes the Forbes Cloud 100 list as the only Canadian company, standing out for its growth, sales, valuation and culture.

C100 team in Toronto this week
This week, founders joined the C100 team and Toronto-based Wave Co-Founder and CEO Kirk Simpson for a Founders’ Dinner in Toronto. Kirk spoke candidly about his entrepreneurial journey and recent $405 million USD Wave exit. The C100 team was excited to see Canadian entrepreneur and 48Hrs in the Valley alum Eva Wong (bottom left) speak on stage at Elevate. Other speakers from the C100 community include Andrew GrahamDax DaSilvaJanet BannisterMichele RomanowDaniel Eberhard and Andrea Drager.
