Partner Shout Outs
We were so pleased to share another Thanksgiving dinner with another sold-out crowd a few weeks ago. This annual event is thanks to great partnerships with Berkeley Canadian Studies, the Consulate as well as Trade & Invest BC who have all supported this DML Thanksgiving event since it started in 2017.
Trade & Invest BC representative, Mareese Keane, attended the dinner, but we didn’t invite her to the podium to share any words. Sorry, Mareese! We thought we’d share a fun fact:
6.4% of BC’s commodity exports are shipped to California which is the number two destination for British Columbia exports, and number three for Canada overall (Statistics Canada 2021)

Poppy Campaign
Each year the Royal Canadian Legion conducts the Poppy Campaign, along with thousands of members who volunteer from coast to coast to coast, to raise funds in support of Veterans and their families. Poppies are distributed freely, but your generous donations are invaluable. Poppies are available and today, October 27th, is the launch of the campaign. Here’s where to find your Poppy, including at the Sharks Canadian Heritage Night Hockey Game next Thursday, November 2nd (last chance for tickets – sales close on Monday, October 30th).
