We will all come together in just over six weeks for National Wreaths Across America Day. The continued dedication of our volunteers and supporters, who understand that ours is a year-round commitment, has allowed us to grow partnerships and outreach across the country.

As we head into the final stretch for our big day, let’s not lose track of how important the work all of you do year-round is in teaching the next generation the cost of freedom and the responsibility for its security that will one day fall on them.

As of today, we can share that on December 14, wreath-laying events will be held at over 4,700 participating locations. Thank you for your dedication to the mission – Remember, Honor, Teach!

I believe that every right implies a responsibility; every opportunity, an obligation; every possession, a duty. ~John D. Rockefeller Jr.

Live with Purpose: Their Pride in Their Duties

waa_their_pride_in_their_duties_2

The 9th attribute of a veteran’s wreath is “their pride in their duties.” For members of the Quilts of Valor Foundation (QOVF), this attribute speaks volumes, as each quilt they create is unique and handcrafted as a gift of thanks to those who have served and sacrificed.

Ready to make a difference? You can support this great program and WAA by sponsoring a veteran’s wreath through their Sponsorship Group. $5 of every $17 wreath sponsored will be given back to the Quilts of Valor Foundation!

Coming Soon: American Heroes Cup Campaign

MISSION BBQ’s American Heroes Cup campaign will kick off on Tuesday, November 12!

PATRIOT PAIR

When you sponsor a Patriot Pair, one wreath will be placed on a veteran’s headstone at a participation location, and a second wreath will be sent to the address of your choice. It is a great option if you’re looking to participate on National Wreaths Across America Day and remember the service of a veteran in your family, honor the sacrifice of a military family you know, or teach others about the Wreaths Across America mission at a business or at home.

Live With Purpose. This Month, We’re Highlighting Their Concern For The Future.

An item from the Wreaths Across America organization.

The chill of Fall has arrived in the air here in Maine. Things are getting busy at the national headquarters as our volunteers step up their efforts to prepare for National Wreaths Across America Day 2024. But they know our mission is year-round, as demonstrated by our “Live With Purpose” series.

This month’s presentation is focused on their concern for the future and inspired by the family of Captain Eric A. Jones, who died in service to our country in 2009, and their commitment to continuing his life mission.

This December, when we take our families to place wreaths on the graves of those who have served, we have the opportunity to honor them not only by remembering them but also by sharing their stories with the children. The lessons we can share with our children about selflessness, service and responsibility affect their lives and shape the future of family, community and country.

We can best help shape the future – their future by helping them understand that freedom comes at great cost and with great responsibility.

With gratitude,
Karen Worcester

The 8th attribute of a veteran’s wreath is “their concern for the future.” This month, we were honored to meet and inspired by the family of Capt. Eric A. Jones, who died in service to our country in 2009. Their commitment to continuing his life mission through the non-profit Heroes in Transition is truly inspiring. You can support this great program and WAA by sponsoring a veteran’s wreath through their Sponsorship Group.

A message from Prince Jordan concerning CAPNSF – San Francisco National Cemetery at the Presidio of San Francisco

Information about an up-coming remembrance event in the Bay Area.

Wreaths Across America

Thank You
Thank you for Sponsoring Wreaths and Volunteering for National Wreaths Across America Day. I am this year’s Location Coordinator for CAPNSF – San Francisco National Cemetery at the Presidio of San Francisco, and I am writing with information about our ceremony scheduled for December 14, 2024 (Wreath Placement Immediately Following Ceremony).

We are excited to announce that we are just 120 days away from our annual program and wreath laying ceremony, which will be held at the San Francisco National Cemetery. The Wreaths Across America San Francisco Team, in partnership with the American Legion Salesian Post 599, is honored to continue this cherished tradition to REMEMBER the fallen, HONOR those who serve, and TEACH our children the value of Freedom.

We invite you to join us for this special event and to volunteer with us. Following the wreath placement, light refreshments will be served for all attendees.

I will keep you updated with more details in the coming weeks as we finalize this year’s program. Thank you once again for your unwavering support. We look forward to seeing you there.

Wave Your Flag With Us đź‡şđź‡¸

Summer is winding down, schools are reopening, and many who graduated in June have set off to begin the next chapter of their lives. That includes thousands of young men and women who signed up to serve in the U.S. military.

September also brings us the anniversary and remembrance of 9-11. This year, we will once again have a special flag-waving ceremony to remember not only those lost that day but also to honor those who joined our military in the wake of that horrendous attack. Before the smoke cleared from the rubble, Americans united in prayer and resolve to protect our land and way of life, and young men and women volunteered to be in harm’s way. That American spirit alone is the cause of optimism for our country.

It is appropriate that from Ground Zero, they will read the names of those who died on that tragic day in the same way we say the names as we place wreaths on National Wreaths Across America Day. Through this, we teach our children about the cost of freedom.

I hope you will join us as we proudly and optimistically wave the American flag like we do each Tuesday morning in remembrance and celebration of our freedoms.

With gratitude,
Karen Worcester
