DECEMBER 2021: ONWARD

Our 75th Anniversary year may be coming to a close, but our mission to honor the legacy of military service never flags, and our recovery continues with a great lineup of in-person Club events. Read on for details – we look forward to seeing you here!

This month, as we prepare to ship hundreds of care packages, we remember our troops who will spend the holidays far from home and family.

With gratitude for the outstanding generosity of our members and patriot supporters through this most unusual and challenging year, we wish you and yours a peaceful, joyous and safe holiday season.

HO HO HO! IT’S THE HOLLY JOLLY HOLIDAY PARTY!

The fun begins at 9:30am on Saturday 4 December! Join fellow Marines’ Memorial families and our friends from the 23rd Marines for food, fun crafts for the kids, a raffle with amazing prizes, and a visit from Santa. Bring a toy for Toys for Tots and you’ll get a free raffle ticket. The top prize is a 3-night stay at your Club!

“THE TROUBLES”: THE SECRET WAR, 50 YEARS ON

Join us on 7 December at the Marines’ Memorial for an evening with one of the Club’s favorite presenters. This is a “must-not-miss” for anyone interested in intelligence, counter-insurgency and the long history of Ireland and the UK’s “Secret War,” which lasted over 30 years. Brigadier Macdonald served two tours in Northern Island during “The Troubles.”

Whether you’re an early bird or a party owl, we have a celebration for you! Drinks, hors d’oeuvres, a 3-course dinner, DJ music & favors are included in both packages.

The Sunset Celebration ($165 pp) begins at 4:30pm and ends at 7:30pm. Celebrating the New Year ($225 pp) begins at 9:00pm and ends at 1:00am, with a champagne toast and sweets at midnight.

MEET THE AUTHOR: The Vietnam Veterans Memorial at Angel Fire – War, Remembrance, and an American Tragedy

Join us as Steven Trout tells the story of Marine Lieutenant David Westphall, who was killed near Con Thien on May 22, 1968, and of his family’s struggle to create and maintain a unique memorial chapel dedicated to the memory of all Americans lost in the Vietnam War and to the cause of world peace.

Dr. Trout was inspired to undertake this project after discovering the memorial at Angel Fire in 2011.
