We have assembled leading WWI historians and experts who will explore the ways that an understanding of WWI might help us avoid slipping into a larger and more devastating world conflict through the crisis in Ukraine. No one intended WWI. What are the parallels? What lessons from WWI can be applied to the situation in Europe today?

Even if you can’t attend live, please register so we can notify you when this webinar becomes available online and on-demand.

Thank you.

Raising Funds for Humanitarian Relief

Humanitarian Relief

The webinar is also a fundraiser for humanitarian relief aimed at Ukrainian refugees. Estimates are that more than 12,000,000 have left their homes.

We are working with the Hungarian embassy and Ambassador Szabolcs Takács to channel donations to the estimated 700,000 Ukrainians who have made their way to Hungary during this crisis.

So we are asking you – our friends and the entire WWI community of interest to help. All funds will go directly to provide shelter, food and care for these Ukrainian refugees. They need our help.

Hello Friend
It’s Tommy Tea time once again! Are you celebrating the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee this year? Why not do it with a Tommy Tea and raise vital funds for RBLI?

Gather your guests and host a tea or street party for Her Majesty. You decide where it is and how many people you invite and, most importantly, what’s on the menu!

Over the past two years, our incredible supporters have helped raise £35,000 by holding Tommy Teas, providing services and accommodation for veterans and those with disabilities. Without this income during the height of the pandemic, we just don’t know what we would have done. You kept services running for some of the most vulnerable members in our society, and for that we can’t thank you enough. Your support means the world to us and the veterans we care for!

Sign Up Now!
Once you sign up, you can also register to receive the free fundraising pack!
The Jubilee Weekend takes place from 2nd to 5th June, but you can host your tea at the most convenient time for you! You could put a price on all of the goodies, or ask for a donation of their choice per slice? Perhaps you would prefer to ask your guests to pay a set amount to attend the Tommy Tea in exchange for as much as they can eat!

The free fundraising pack includes invites, cake flags and a collection box to help you ‘raise the dough’! The fundraising pack will also be available in our Facebook Community! 👋 Please get in touch if you have any questions and I will be happy to help!

Canada and the Second World War at Sea

Active on many fronts during the Second World War, the Royal Canadian Navy played its best-known and arguably most crucial role in helping to keep Allied shipping lanes open in the Atlantic. Meanwhile, Canadian merchant ships and merchant sailors transported vital supplies to Allied forces and populations around the world. On Canada’s home front, maritime losses – including civilian passengers – were felt across the country, while naval imagery appeared in fundraising and propaganda materials. Canadians built ships, weapons, and equipment, or were encouraged to provide support through their volunteer war, its events, and its consequences on the waters.
