Did you know that the last Sunday of September is Gold Star Mother’s and Family Day? It was originally declared by Senate Joint Resolution 115 on 23 June 1936 and has been observed every year since.
We are thrilled to be preparing for our 2023 Gold Star Parents Honor & Remembrance event here at the Marines’ Memorial Club & Hotel. It is truly an honor to offer Gold Star families a safe, comfortable and loving environment in which to build community and remember their fallen heroes. Being able to resume this annual gathering means so much! Won’t you join us in this sacred mission? Thank you for your support!

Amy Forsythe, author of Heroes Live Here: A Tribute to Camp Pendleton Marines Since 9/11, is an award-winning military journalist who has served five combat deployments covering military operations in Iraq and Afghanistan.
Major Scott Huesing, USMC (Ret) wrote Echo in Ramadi: The Firsthand Story of US Marines in Iraq’s Deadliest City in tribute to the Marines and Sailors he led during the second Battle of Ramadi in 2006.
Major Fred Galvin, USMC (Ret) is the author of A Few Bad Men: The True Story of US Marines Ambushed in Afghanistan and Betrayed in America, which recounts the case of Marines tried for the alleged murder of 19 and wounding of 50 Afghan civilians.
