Note the first event is later this afternoon – and thanks to our fellow Canadian organization in the Bay Area for publicizing our event. We’re hoping to get lots of ex-pats out in person for the first time in a while.

One of our members passed along this historical item that they came across in the Chronicle newspaper on May 25, 1935.

Thanks to Comrade Charlie Martin for this find.
A reminder of this event from one of our fellow Canadian organizations in the Bay Area.

In the plot that our branch maintains in Greenlawn Cemetery, there is a monument where we have placed the names of those members who have passed away, but are laid to rest elsewhere. Over the years, we have gotten behind or missed a name here and there.
During the past six months, Comrades Siefken and Margaret Krieger have researched our membership rolls to determine the missing names so that we could add plaques for each one. This past weekend, Comrade Charlie Martin and his brother (Bob) installed them on the monument. Charlie even took a few minutes to play a piece on the pipes to remember them.
