Raise money by raising your cup and having Tea for Tommy.

We have been inundated with emails about holding your Tommy Tea this weekend – thank you all so much!
We’ve also been getting lots of emails asking for advice on keeping safe and within the rules for you future Tommy Teas. To help, we have prepared a special Social Distancing Guide to ensure you are able to ‘keep calm and carry on’ with your Tommy Tea. The guide has lots of hints and tips to ensure your Tommy Tea can still go ahead safely, and be truly terrific!

Let’s see what you’ve been up to…
Sally-Anne in South Oxfordshire hosted her Tommy Tea in the front garden. And what a beautiful front garden she has! The weather wasn’t looking promising but as the guests arrived, the sun decided to put his hat on! 🌞
As well as invited guests, several families drop in as they were passing by. We can even spot a Tommy making a visit to this Tea!
Amanda and her team at Plyofit Elite Fitness in Telford proudly flying the flag for those in The Rifles regiment👏 . It’s great to see our bunting being put to use too!
Through hard times past and present and in the true spirit of the Blitz, we continue to celebrate the bravery and sacrifice of all those who served and won our freedom (and enjoyed a good cuppa!).

RBLI’S FIRST EVER TOMMY TEA
Will you be joining with Alan, our 96 year old resident dancer, and throwing some shapes at your own Tommy Tea?
Residents at Queen Elizabeth Court held the first ever Tommy Tea this week, to raise money (and eat a lot cake!) for RBLI. There was magic on and off the dance floor as George shared some card tricks and little tipple of Red Velvet Bailey’s.

One amazing supporter will be holding their Tommy Tea in honour of their great grandfather, a stretcher bearer in WW1 and grandfather, who was interned in Burma. They’ve got a busy day planned including a bake off, raffle and name the teddy bear competition!

Now don’t worry if you’re short on ideas. We’ve introduced some party pieces to our downloadable collection that are sure to liven up your event! How about joining the great tea debate? Our office has voted and the result is… 6 or 7!

OUR YOUNG FUNDRAISER IS ON FIRE!
 Alexander used to love collecting outside Tesco, but covid put a stop to that. 😞 So instead he’s braving the coals and taking part in our fire walk challenge! Those coals are over 1200 degree Farenheit. What a legend!

We have been working with the Royal Engineers Association to bring you something special…
… say hello to SAPPER TOMMY!
GET YOUR SAPPER TOMMY
In celebration of our major new partnership with The Royal Engineers Association, we have launched this specially engraved Sapper Tommy.

The commemorative Sapper Tommy is the perfect way to celebrate over 300 years of successful military engineering around the world.

Made by veterans working in RBLI’s social enterprise, Britain’s Bravest Manufacturing Company, based in Aylesford. 
This new partnership with The Royal Engineers Association will see the development of assisted-living accommodation Sapper House. The accommodation will provide support to those veterans who have life-changing physical injuries as a result of service and who need additional help to remain independent.

RBLI’s Tommy Tea is happening this September, so it’s time to settle the debate once and for all…

We know Devon likes cream first & Cornwall prefers jam first, but what about everyone else? The nations dilemma!
The Queen of Baking (Mary Berry) opts both methods by applying jam first to one side, and clotted cream first to the other half!

We are currently building our Centenary Village to increase our welfare support to the UK’s most disadvantaged veterans. The Centenary Village will provide family accommodation, adapted apartments for veterans with disabilities and assisted living quarters. The community and education centre will discourage isolation and encourage education.
