The annual Canadian Thanksgiving event that the Digital Moose Lounge and the Canadian Studies Program at UC Berkeley host is traditionally the unofficial beginning to our annual Poppy Campaign. So we will be missing that this year with these virtual events.

Our unofficial Poppy Campaign began on Saturday at the Third Annual Canadian Thanksgiving dinner, organized by the Digital Moose Lounge and the Canadian Studies Program at UC Berkeley.
Yesterday, we highlighted the presentation of the first unofficial poppy of the 2019 campaign to Griselda Zhou, Co-Chairmoose of the Digital Moose Lounge. Below are additional images from the event.

A few days ago, the Dominion Command of the Royal Canadian Legion announced:
On Tuesday, October 15, Legion Dominion President Thomas Irvine will present the symbolic first poppy of the 2019 National Poppy Campaign to Her Excellency the Right Honourable Julie Payette, Governor General and Commander-in-Chief of Canada.

Poppies will be available to the general public beginning October 25, 2019.
Le président national de la Légion royale canadienne, Thomas D. Irvine, présentera à Son Excellence la très honorable Julie Payette, gouverneure générale et commandante en chef du Canada, le premier coquelicot symbolique le mardi 15 octobre.
La cérémonie sera diffusée en direct et archivée sur www.gg.ca/fr/activites

The Royal Canadian Legion US Branch #25 representing the San Francisco Bay Area, our unofficial Poppy Campaign began yesterday with the the Third Annual Canadian Thanksgiving dinner, organized by the Digital Moose Lounge and the Canadian Studies Program at UC Berkeley.
Following the lead of Dominion Command, and in keeping with the informal practice of the branch, Poppy Chair Michael Barbour presented our first unofficial poppy of the 2019 campaign to Griselda Zhou, Co-Chairmoose of the Digital Moose Lounge.
