Liberty School District Veterans Day Community Assembly

Liberty School District and Liberty Elementary School are located adjacent to Liberty Cemetery in Petaluma, which the Royal Canadian Legion, US Branch #25 helps to maintain.  This year the leadership of Liberty School District and Liberty Elementary School invited members of the branch to join them at their annual Veterans Day assembly.

The program consisted of patriotic songs and some presentations by the 208 students and approximately four dozen staff members, and then all Veterans were invited to stay for a lunch provided by our parent group.  Additionally, there were between 175 and 225 veterans and family members – as well as members of the community – at the assembly.

Note that we have attempted to blur the faces of the students.

Finally, our branch was on hand to distribute poppies to the veterans, staff, family, and community members – and poppy stickers for the students.
