The Homecoming
Ordinary Canadians. Extraordinary Courage. |

|
| This June 6, Canadians will gather in Calgary for an unforgettable evening of remembrance, reflection, and national tribute at The Homecoming – Ordinary Canadians. Extraordinary Courage. Held in support of the Juno Beach Centre Association, the fundraising gala commemorates the extraordinary service and sacrifice of the Canadians who helped shape the course of the Second World War, and the generations who have carried their legacy forward.
At the heart of the evening is a rare and deeply meaningful national treasure: the Victoria Cross awarded to Major David Vivian Currie, on special one-night-only loan from the Canadian War Museum. As one of Canada’s highest military honours for bravery, its return serves as a powerful symbol of courage, leadership, and remembrance.
Guests will experience a moving evening of storytelling, tribute, music, and shared reflection alongside veterans’ families, military representatives, community leaders, and supporters from across the country. Together, we will honour the ordinary Canadians who answered extraordinary calls to service, and reaffirm our collective responsibility to preserve these stories for future generations.
More than a gala, The Homecoming is a celebration of shared Canadian memory, national unity, and the enduring importance of remembrance. For more information, please visit: https://www.junobeach.org/homecoming-gala/ |

| Dear supporters of the Juno Beach Centre,
I hope you are having a lovely spring. With the 82nd anniversary of D-Day on the near horizon, I’d like to provide an update on the Canadian D-Day Monument. We have nearly completed our research into the names on the monument and are beginning to examine the design of the textual inscriptions for the names of over 380 Canadian soldiers and air crew. We have also added a new element to our monument campaign: a powerful digital monument experience that will make the monument accessible to anyone in the world while also deepening the experience of visiting the Juno Beach Centre once the monument is in place. You can read more about this on our monument campaign page.
Second, I want to formally welcome the new Board Members for the Juno Beach Centre Association. It is exciting to have such accomplished and experienced Canadians join our governance team. Welcome to Will, Kirstin, Adam, and Garry. We are excited for the new energy that your presence will bring!
Finally, THANK YOU, our valued subscriber, for your kind support of the Juno Beach Centre and our mission to advance Canada’s Second World War legacy through remembrance, education, and a global commitment to peace and democracy.
Remember Today. Remember Always. |

| Every day, the Canadian flag flies proudly above the Juno Beach Centre as a symbol of remembrance, sacrifice, and national pride.
Through the Flag Sponsorship Program, supporters have the opportunity to help preserve this meaningful tradition while receiving a special keepsake, the very flag flown at the Centre in Normandy.
Your sponsorship helps support the ongoing work of remembrance and education at the museum, and thanks to the generosity of Canso Investment Counsel and Lysander Funds, every donation will be matched dollar-for-dollar up to $1 million, doubling your impact. |
