Happy Canada Day! 🇨🇦

Canada Day Greetings from one of our fellow Canadian organizations in the Bay Area.

Happy Canada Day from Canadian Studies!

Dear friends,

On Canada Day, we celebrate the people, histories, cultures, and communities that make Canada unique. We are grateful to the many students, faculty, and community partners whose ongoing engagement makes our program a vibrant intellectual and community hub.

As we look ahead to the upcoming year, we remain dedicated to expanding opportunities for students, exploring the most critical issues in Canada-US relations, and continuing the traditions that bring our community together.

Your generosity helps sustain the student research, public programming, and community events that make our program such a vibrant part of Bay Area Canadian life. If you are able, please consider making a gift in support of our mission. Every contribution, large or small, helps us continue to grow and advance understanding between the US and Canada.

On behalf of the entire Canadian Studies team, we wish you a safe and happy Canada Day! 🇨🇦

Canada Day Flag Raising at San Francisco City Hall

Canadian Studies was honored to participate in this year’s annual Canadian flag-raising ceremony at San Francisco City Hall. Program representatives joined Mayor Daniel Lurie, Consul General Rana Sarkar, members of the Canadian community, and friends of Canada in celebrating the enduring friendship between Canada and the Bay Area – a relationship built on shared values, vibrant cultural exchange, educational partnerships, and strong economic ties. We are proud of the role that the Canadian Studies Program plays in strengthening these connections, and fostering greater understanding between our communities.

Canadian Studies Bingo at the DML Canada Day Picnic

Canadian Studies was also pleased to participate in a Canada Day picnic on Saturday organized by the Digital Moose Lounge, a local Canadian community group. The picnic was a valuable opportunity to engage with friends of Canada from around the Bay Area, and to introduce attendees to the work we do at Berkeley. We were delighted to host a lively game of interactive Canada-themed bingo with Cal-branded hats as prizes, creating a fun and engaging way for attendees to learn more about our program and make connections beyond the university.
