Vancouver Police Pipe Band at Juno Beach for the 80th Anniversary of D-Day

Earlier this year we made a donation to the Vancouver Police Pipe Band to allow them to be the only Canadian pipe band that was going to be at Juno Beach for the 80th anniversary of D-Day. One of the things the pipe band did in our name was lay a wreath at Juno Beach.

The band documented their travels and performances on their Facebook page.

Following their travels, the band sent us a little thank you package (as you can see below).

Honouring 100 years of service

Today marks the 100th anniversary of the Royal Canadian Air Force as a distinct military element. The Juno Beach Centre is proud to honour this centennial milestone through initiatives you can explore by clicking the images below.

Mark D-Day80 with a commemorative brick on Juno Beach

You can leave your commemorative mark on Juno Beach by sponsoring a titanium brick at the Juno Beach Centre. Our commemorative brick program provides crucial funds needed to carry out our commemorative mandate fir years to come.

April 15 is the deadline to place your order and submit your inscription information to ensure it is installed by the D-Day80 commemorative period.

A national ceremony will be held at the Juno Beach Centre on June 6, 2024.

Space will be limited. If you are interested in attending, click the button below, scroll down to “Events in France,” and email Veterans Affairs Canada to be notified when registration is available.

100 ans de service

Aujourd’hui marque le 100e anniversaire de l’Aviation royale canadienne en tant qu’élément militaire distinct. Le Centre Juno Beach est fier d’honorer ce centenaire avec plusieurs initiatives que vous pouvez explorer ci-dessous.

Date limite pour les briques commémoratives

Vous pouvez commémorer le 80e anniversaire du jour J et de la bataille de Normandie en achetant une brique commémorative qui sera installée sur Juno Beach.
La date limite pour acheter une brique afin qu’elle puisse être installée avant le 80e anniversaire est le 15 avril 2024.

Une cérémonie nationale aura lieu au Centre Juno Beach le 6 juin 2024.

Les places seront limitées. Si vous souhaitez participer, cliquez sur le bouton ci-dessous, faites défiler jusqu’à « Événements en France » et envoyez un courriel à Anciens Combattants Canada pour être averti lorsque l’inscription sera disponible.

Chaque année, le Centre embauche de jeunes Canadiens de partout au pays pour s’assurer qu’il y a toujours des visages canadiens souriants pour accueillir les visiteurs du monde entier !
