We have just been advised that tomorrow, Tuesday May 15, has been designated “Veterans’ Day” by the Canadian Tulip Festival.
I realize that this is very short notice to all, but if you are looking for something to do on Tuesday, take advantage of this offer. All veterans and their families have free entry to the Lansdowne Park Art & Culture Festival experience (Aberdeen Pavilion, Lansdowne Park) from 10 am to 5 pm. Special displays will be set up to inform visitors about the Canadian Armed Forces as well as provide information about veteran support services.
To acknowledge and celebrate those who have served our country, the Festival is also holding “Honouring Our Veterans”, a formal ceremony from 11 am to 12 noon in the Pavilion highlighting the Highway of Heroes Living Tribute, announcing the honourary veterans from navy, army and air force for the 2018 Festival as well as acknowledging veterans in attendance.
Special Guests include: Celebrity Gardener and Highway of Heroes Champion, Mark Cullen Representatives from Embassy of the Kingdom of the Netherlands and Office of the Chief of the Defence Staff The Festival is donating five dollars from every purchased non-veteran ticket to the Highway of Heroes Living Tribute.
