RBLI CELEBRATE NEW ACHIEVEMENTS IN SUPPORTING ARMED FORCES VETERANS

Hello Friend
Catch up with the latest RBLI news and updates including our recent win at the 2022 Social Value Awards, the grand opening of a new Bambooserie at Great Comp Garden, the much-anticipated Big Fish event and more.
SOCIAL VALUE AWARD WINNERS 2022
Our industry-leading social enterprise factories, Britain’s Bravest Manufacturing Company and Scotland’s Bravest Manufacturing Company were shortlisted amongst three other worthy third sector projects, and we couldn’t be happier to be announced as the winner at tonight’s award ceremony.

As a business leader in the manufacturing space, we are extremely proud of what we have achieved so far, and our commitment to providing meaningful employment opportunities to veterans and people with disabilities will continue for years to come.

THE BIG FISH EVENT

It’s not too late to get your tickets for Bunzl Greenham’s Big Fish event on 27th May 2022! The charity fishing match is a fantastic way to support Armed Forces veterans. Spectators and family members are welcome, making it a fun day out for the whole family with raffle prizes to be won throughout the day.

GREAT COMP GARDEN: BAMBOOSERIE NOW OPEN
MP, Tom Tugendhat, unveiled the new Bambooserie at Great Comp Garden in Sevenoaks last Friday in the presence of the Lord Lieutenant of Kent and the veterans, volunteers and gardeners who worked together to create this therapeutic environment for former servicemen and women adjusting to civilian life.

This fantastic horticultural project is all thanks to the support received from our partners, ABF The Soldiers’ Charity, who’s ongoing commitment to helping military veterans has created a number of opportunities for us to provide housing, employment and welfare support to our vulnerable heroes.

HAPPY VE DAY

Tomorrow (8th May) the world celebrates Victory in Europe, ending the war with Germany in 1945. It was on this day that Winston Churchill made a national radio broadcast announcing the news that the war in Europe had ended following German surrender. He later appeared on the balcony of the Ministry of Health building in London declaring to the huge cheering crowds “This is your victory”.

SEAT UNIQUE VISIT

Last week, RBLI partners, Seat Unique, toured the RBLI village, visiting our social enterprise factory, Britain’s Bravest Manufacturing Company, and introducing them to some of the veterans living and working on the village. Seat Unique provide fans of sports, entertainment and hospitality with a secure and easy way to access premium tickets online whilst supporting our Armed Forces veterans.

Thank you so much for your ongoing support for RBLI.
