It is during the holidays that our deployed servicemen and women miss home the most and there are empty seats at family gatherings. And generally, it is during the holidays, when conflict and strife are replaced by charity and goodwill toward one another. But we want our country’s veterans to be thought of and honored each and every day of the year, not just in December.
It is with this in mind, that as many promote Christmas in July programs we choose to celebrate“Giving in July.” Throughout the month, Wreaths Across America will be partnering nationally with five other like-minded nonprofits that each give back to the veteran and military communities through their own programs and initiatives. This is in addition to the thousands of Fundraising Groups across the country already working hard to support local participating cemeteries. By sponsoring a wreath(s) through the designated pages for each group you will not only sponsor a veterans’ wreath to be placed in honor of an American hero next December, but $5 of each $15 contribution will go directly to the featured group to help support their mission!

Over the last ten years, Wreaths Across America has given back more than $8M to other nonprofits through the same fundraising program*, while sharing the mission to Remember, Honor, Teach.

Our veterans and our current military serve and protect us 365 days a year, providing us with freedoms that we enjoy as citizens every day in this country. Please join us in sharing their stories.

With gratitude,
Karen Worcester

The Gary Sinise Foundation
The Gary Sinise Foundation was established under the philanthropic direction of a forty-year advocate for our nation’s defenders, actor Gary Sinise. Its outreach supports those who sacrifice to defend our country: active duty, veterans, first responders, and their loved ones.

The Maine Troop Greeters & Museum
The mission of the Maine Troop Greeters is to express the Nation’s (and our) gratitude and appreciation to the Troops, for those going overseas for a safe return and for those returning for a joyful homecoming and to make their (hopefully brief) stay in Bangor as comfortable and pleasant as possible. Additionally we will honor the trust placed in us by these troops by preserving and perpetuating the donations entrusted to our care, through display, education and sharing of these collections.

Honor and Remember
The organization Honor and Remember pays tribute to all military lives lost, not only while serving on active duty but also as a result of serving. Military deaths in all wars or conflicts and all branches of service from our nation’s inception are recognized.

America’s Mighty Warriors
Debbie Lee founded America’s Mighty Warriors, after her son Marc was the first Navy SEAL to be killed in Iraq on August 2, 2006. In Marc’s Last Letter Home, he asked for friends and family to “pass on the love and kindness and precious gift of human life.” Since then, America’s Mighty Warriors has been fighting to support our troops, the fallen and their families and to work with like-minded organizations to do the same.

Travis Manion Foundation
TMF is uniting communities to strengthen America’s national character. In an increasingly divisive cultural climate, we unite and strengthen communities. Our nation needs role models that inspire and we should look no further than the civic assets already living in our communities. Veterans and families of the fallen are leading the charge, pushing us to be better versions of ourselves and improving our collective character.
